Discoverers’ tour with play, fun and excitement – Guided tour for children

A discoverers’ tour with play, fun and excitement is the motto of this guided tour for interested and curious children at the age of six to twelve. On the tour that was developed specially for children, our young guests are given space for thinking and discovering on their own. Without rigid guidelines the children can actively explore the Castle and give (nearly) free rein to their natural curiosity. Questions are welcome and answered in dialogue with an adult, who doesn’t just give lectures but stops everywhere the children are torn to. This way, the more than 400 years old monument is brought home to children in an unusual but suitable manner. Participants are to be announced in the run-up of the tour (tel.: +49 5531 1216436) since the number of participants is limited.

Dates: 28 March 2018, 2.00 p.m. | 10 October 2018, 2.00 p.m.

Castle special - Guided tours concerning the historical construction through almost 400 years of castle history

Built from 1603 to 1612, Bevern Castle is counted to the most prestigious Renaissance buildings throughout the Weser area. Statius von Münchhausen (1555 - 1633) commissioned the leading architect of Hameln, Johann Hundertossen, to build the Castle. In the Renaissance architecture of the region several stylistic characteristics can be found. Around 1600, these characteristics became an own distinctive architectural style. Structures out of cornices, pilasters and ashlar frames with notched patterns, richly decorated gable fronts, dormers and fastening ornaments are typical for this style. The buildings are decorated with oriels, "Utluchts" and stair towers with "welsch" roofs. Our castle guides show and explain the special features of this unique monument in an easily understandable way, so that our guests can take a glance at hidden details. Participation is necessarily to be announced (tel.: +49 5531 1216436).

Dates: 5 May 2018, 2.00 p.m. | 22 September 2018, 2.00 p.m.
